Thanks AJ. It comes from my understanding of the Strauss-Howe Gen Theory. My writing goal is to come up with metaphors that can communicate the theory in simple, non-academic ways so more people can benefit from the insights the theory provides us. Appreciate your sharing here.
This is a fascinating concept. Even more so now that the election has passed and we see the exact generation you mention taking the lead — Gen X. As a younger boomer with millennial children I wonder what the Gen X mindset is.
Mary Ann, TY for sharing this observation, post election! Yes! Gen X are stepping up in their own way and having an influence. This is one of the fascinating things about understanding generational progression. I'll be expanding on this more and more as I write.
I too am a young boomer with a Millennial child, very different experience from Gen X.
I'm so glad to have you as a reader. I'm open to direct questions as well and can respond in comments or perhaps a future article. Best!
I loved this post! The cover photo is beautiful, and the post was very well put together in terms of the structural means of the article and the material inside of it. Taking this into a bigger picture with a potential global crisis in our own very world, I think the transition from the fourth turning back to the first turning is a huge priority for humanity to think through, so we are able to experience that 'High' of everything going well and smooth again.
Glad to hear you loved the post Travis! TY for sharing your insights as well. I agree, being mindful of the Turnings helps us to keep the bigger picture in mind. I find joy in thinking of the coming High unfolding in time.
This is really interesting! I've never seen an explanation like this before. Love the stars and the graphics of how each generation is represented based on their stage in life. As a Gen Xer, I am always ready to lead! 😏
Hi Sandra, thanks for your feedback! I’m looking to just what you noticed… explain Generations in a way others have not, but with a visual twist that makes it easier to grasp. Your comment made my day! TY
Thanks for sharing this perspective on generations and turnings - I’d never heard of this before and it’s a really interesting way to look at things.
